The Ultimate in Pump Protection The Munro DamBox provides ultimate pump protection by monitoring the condition of the filter or skimmer to detect any crucial decrease in water flow within the pump chamber. As filter elements become clogged and the pump chamber water level drops, a float switch will signal the DamBox to turn the pump motor off, avoiding damage due to run-dry and constant on-off cycling.
After the filter has been cleaned and proper water level has been restored in the pump chamber, simply press the reset button on the side of the DamBox to turn the pump on and restore normal operation.

Clogged Filter
Clogged filters do not allow water to flow freely through the filter to the pump chamber. This "dam-ing" of the filter will create a run-dry condition for the pump where more water is pumped out than can enter the pump chamber. When water seeps through the filter the pump will short-cycle as water reaches positive pump conditions, and immediately shut off again when the water level drops.
